Snapdragon 865
Qualcomm has recently unveiled its new flagship mobile platform at Annual Tech Summit. The new Snapdragon 865 is the successor of Snapdragon 855 and the newcomer in the 8xx Series line-up.
The first Chipset of this series was announced on January 8, 2013. Snapdragon 800, later on we saw 801, 805, 808, 810, 820, 821, 835, 845, 855, and now 865.
THE CPU
Snapdragon 865 is an octa-core CPU, based on four A77 High-Performance cores and four power-saving A-55 cores.
Snapdragon 865 A77 cores are unique.
The Snapdragon 865 high-performance cores are unique, It’s one ARM Cortex A77 core based on Kryo 585 runs @ 2.84 GHz to deliver high-performance.
Most of the applications could not leverage parallel computing with high efficiency.
This may be one of the reasons why apple still sticks to it’s dual and maximum quad-core processors with the higher clock.
Making one core even faster will result in a significant jump in single-core performance.
Hence, we will see the apps running much smoother. While the remaining 3 A77 cores run at 2.42GHz.
The remaining four Cortex A55 cores based on Kryo 385 running @ 1.8GHz clock speed for high power efficiency, this means better battery life .
You can also see the effect of faster Cortex-A77 Core running @ 2.84 Ghz gives 20% boost compared to its predecessor.

THE GPU
Snapdragon 865 now mate with more powerful GPU Adreno 650. This new offers 20% faster graphics rendering compared to Adreno 640 of last year’s Snapdragon 855 flagship.
Additionally, Snapdragon 865 GPU comes with five new features on its Elite Gaming Suit; they are as follows, Desktop Forward Rendering, Snapdragon Game Performance Engine, Game Color Plus, Adreno HDR Fast Blend and updatable GPU drivers.
